The GDGC
Our Mission:
To build community and grow disc golf in Guelph through engagement, accessibility, and inclusivity.
About the Club
Current Club Initiatives
The Guelph Disc Golf Club (GDGC) is a registered incorporated not-for-profit organization in Canada and a recognized club of the Professional Disc Golf Association (PDGA). We are dedicated to building the sport of disc golf in the Guelph area.
The club works actively with the City of Guelph, the University of Guelph Arboretum, the Upper Grand District School Board, private landowners, and several other organizations to grow the sport locally.
We are involved in initiatives to install new facilities, enhance existing courses, and strengthen relationships with local landowners. The club also supports the introduction of new players to the sport through educational programming and community-based events.
Eastview Disc Golf Course
The Club successfully submitted a proposal to the City of Guelph and worked with the City on the development/installation of a new 18-hole course in the Eastview Community Park. Currently, the club is seeking volunteers to help with course maintenance.
Guelph Public Library
The Club has partnered with the GPL to run a teen disc golf program, and you can borrow discs from the Library too!
Youth & Senior Lessons
In partnership with the City of Guelph, the club runs youth (8-12) and senior (55+) disc golf programs through the city’s parks and recreation programming.
Ice Bowl
The club runs an annual charity disc golf tournament to raise funds for local organizations. In 5 years we have raised over $20,000 and 5000lbs of food for The SEED, an organization that helps those with food insecurity.
School Programs
The club has provided resources for local schools to incorporate disc golf into their curriculum and is working to install disc golf facilities within school grounds.
Community Involvement and Support
We regularly participate in local events such as the Guelph and District Multicultural Festival, Rockmosa, and the Good Games to promote the sport. In 2024, the club raised nearly $10,000 for local charities through tournaments and community initiatives.
